The 2023 preseason AP Poll was released on Monday with six SEC teams included in the top 25 (with three in the top five). Not just were the six SEC schools included in the top 25, but six others also received votes on at least one person’s ballot (meaning that 12 of the conference’s 14 teams were included in at least one person’s ballot). The AP Poll consists of top 25 ballots from over 60 media professionals around the country. Point totals are given based on where a team is ranked in a specific poll (1st receives the most points, 2nd gets the 2nd most, so on and so forth).
